My name is István Huszár and I’m a freelance web designer with a huge interest in front-end web development.
I currently reside in the heart of Transylvania, Romania, but have plans of relocating my Lair of Operations™ to different (and decidedly greener) pastures.
This glorious website is somewhat of a combination between a résumé and portfolio—the former also being available as a print-friendly A4-sized PDF file for your perusal.

I’m currently working under this name as a freelancer, creating standards-compliant websites for a variety of clients. This was a Swedish design company that me and a couple of friends set up, fueled by our common hobbies, namely web design and development. This was my first foray into doing professional work (before this I’ve only been doing volunteer jobs and simply pursuing design as a hobby) and it’s when I realized that this is what I want to do for a living. |

Technical Proficiency & Skills
I am self-taught—it started out as a neccessity (there are no web design schools in Romania), but I’ve grown to be a firm believer in autodidacticism and following my passions. I love learning about new technologies and I’m in constant pursuit of improving my technical skills.

My Portfolio
ftopia.com
ftopia is a global provider of cloud-based file-centric collaboration based in Paris, France. I was responsible for the design and development of the website, having started from sketches and mock-ups, then going through designing, slicing and creating the HTML and CSS code.
Afterwards I have ported everything to a Wordpress skin, configured it and implemented various functionalities coded in PHP & MySQL, and made it very easy and intuitive to keep the pages updated by adding fully functional textboxes, text areas, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdowns etc. to the admin interface.
Condor Performance
This is a website built for a team of sport and performance psychologists from Sydney, Australia. I helped creating the website by dealing with the graphical aspects of it and the creation of HTML and CSS code and a rotating Flash banner.
Condor Spanish Academy
A sister company of Condor Performance, Condor Spanish Academy is an Australian company that specializes in teaching Spanish. During the website's creation, I was responsible for both the design and HTML/CSS markup.
Desert Drifter
This is a blog of my friend, Sebastian, about his travels and experiences in the United States of America. I was responsible for the entire graphical aspect of the website and the slicing & HTML+CSS coding that came afterwards.
SassArt.com
SassArt.com is a website showcasing the art of renowned painter and illustrator, Mike Sass.
In this case the design itself was mostly supplied (hand drawn) by the client as a single image, my job was to slice it up and create the HTML and CSS code. The main challenge was making sure it looks good in smaller resolutions as well as in larger ones.
Mediavalet Interface
Mediavalet is a cloud-based media asset manager created by VRX Studios Inc. This was a design of the program interface that I've created using Photoshop.
Cinch! Online Banking
This was a design of the interface of an online banking managing app created by Nexcentri LLC. Tools used: Photoshop and Illustrator.
Spellhold Studios IPB Skin
I have designed this skin for Invision Power Board 3 for Spellhold Studios, a gaming community specialized in creating modifications for video games.
Among technologies used for its creation were HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and MySQL.
Impirus
Impirus is a company specializing in websites for small law firms and solo practitioners - this was a design of their webpage, a mockup created using Photoshop and Illustrator.
Göran Hellman AB
Personal website of Göran Hellman, Swedish consulting specialist. Only a PSD design was requested, therefore no coding was involved. Tools used: Photoshop.
Skyline Creative LLC
This was the website of a web solutions company I co-founded in 2007. It was designed in Photoshop, then sliced and coded with HTML and CSS.
Other People's Business
OPB is a webcomic created by K. Sandra Fuhr. I was responsible for the site's design (done with Photoshop) and HTML/CSS markup.
Dimension Financial and Realty Investments, Inc.
DFRI is a company specializing in realty investments. The website was designed and coded by me using Photoshop, HTML and CSS.
Red Mango
I have extensively collaborated with Red Mango, a well known frozen yogurt and smoothie chain from the USA. The work I have done for them involved retouching, editing and photo manipulation of various products.
